Kev Field’s background
At the age of 40, I decided to have a career change. After 22 years of working for the Royal Mail, working my way from postman to middle management, I became a self-employed driving instructor. Changing career and entering the world of self-employment came with plenty of challenges. It also came with feelings of excitement and lots to learn. My aim was to be the best that I could be in my new choice of industry. While working towards this, I found a passion for learning and personal development for myself, as well as helping others to achieve their dreams.
Ten years later, I am currently the highest-grade driving instructor. I am Driver Metrics accredited, which involves me training company drivers in driver behaviour both in the car and delivering workshop classroom sessions. I have become ORDIT registered so that I can train other people to become the best Driving Instructors they can be. And I also deliver the BTEC Level 4 in Coaching for Driver Development which was where my interest in coaching started.
My passion for coaching has led me to explore coaching outside of the driver training industry to study with the Coaching Academy. I have studied for the Diploma in Personal Development and Diploma in Small Business Coaching during 2019. I continued my learning journey by completing an NLP practitioners’ course in early 2020 as well as becoming accredited to carry out DISC personality profiling with teams and individuals.

“Many thanks, Kev for coaching me. The six sessions just came at the right time for me as after 18 years in the same job I went self-employed. The sessions really helped me focus on setting my goals and make me reflect on what I had achieved. I now know I will keep working towards my 2-year plan. The support has also helped me become more confident and believe in myself. They were much appreciated. Thanks again Kev.” Jacky
“I thought the training sessions I had with Kev, were very thought-provoking in the way he asked questions and left space for me then to respond. I wanted to be more confident in myself and my ability. Kev made the process easy to understand and follow, it felt not too intrusive with clear open questions that Kev asked. If I wasn’t sure he was more than happy to reword or rephrase the questions into the terms I understood . Which allowed me to aim for my goals. I was more happy with the impact that came from the sessions.” Neil
